I knew when planning my Canada trip that I had to visit the Canadian Rockies. More than basically anything else, I needed to see those mountains in person.
(Sidenote: I’m more of a coastal/beach person and mountains haven’t really been on my radar. But maybe it was the photographer side of me that knew the landscape photography opportunities would be UNREAL? Whatever the case, ‘the mountains were calling and I had to go.’)
But how to visit the Canadian Rockies? Vancouver was my base and there was a very small window of time available for a trip up into the mountains.
Considering when I was travelling (I arrived in Vancouver right at the end of September) there weren’t a LOT of tour operators that:
a) were still running trips to the Canadian Rocky Mountains – a lot of them had started their short hiatus for the change over between summer and winter tours, and
b) would get me back to Vancouver for the other event I had booked.
I’m pretty sure Discover Canada Tours was the only one available and I’m actually incredibly glad I went with that one because it was a FANTASTIC tour.
The tour involved five very FULL days (we covered a LOT of kilometres!) – I’ve listed the towns/spots we hit below. I’ve started blogging about the trip – it’s not something I want to forget!! – and I’ve split it so each day has it’s own blog post. Those are also linked below.
So come with me on my trip down memory lane as I RE-visit the Canadian Rockies…
